I'm an artist living with Long Covid. It's been quite the journey. Before I got sick, I ran a yoga and bellydance studio, helping women feel good in their bodies. Then my own body had other plans. These days life has moved mostly indoors, so instead of moving bodies, I now make them. Tiny, soft, happy fabric bodies, with paddles and beaks, and sometimes fangs
On my good days I taught myself to sew. Soon a parade of wonky Platyplushies paddled out of my brain, through the fog, and into the real world. They like to travel sitting on my shoulder, discovering markets and fabrics. And so, one stitch at a time, Lausie Art was born.
I don't know if a journey like this leaves you anything you could call fruit- but if it does, this is mine. I'm glad to share it. And if it makes your corner of the world a little happier, that's the whole point. I am grateful to share the results of this little imperfect, wonky universe with you.💛
